My Grandmother lost her brother in 1945. Until recently she, nor any of the family knew of his final resting place. Found out he is buried at Lorraine American Cemetary, France. His name was PFC.Carvel Mullins and he was with the 254th Inf. Reg., 63rd Inf. Div..
If anyone has any info on him or his unit would appreciate any response. Thank you. bozzy1970@yahoo.com

Rose: thank you so much for sending me your note. I have enjoyed your Private Art site very much. Isn't it funny how all the connections work? I heard this remark once in a movie. I think it appropriate here: "Ain't it small world to turn around in?"
If you think of it please write to me when the program is aired in March. I try and catch everything I can. Am still looking for a program entitled 'Unsung Heroe's' on DWINGS channel. saw part of it once. Leandra

My dad, a native of Cincinnati was witht he 509th Composit Group. He was a Flight Engineer on Jim Price's crew. Plane (Silverplate) was s/n 4427296 (Some Punkins; so called because of the shape (pumpkin shape) of the bomb. Price's crew flew 5 missions and n training flights not classified as missions. He was hand picked by then Col. Paul Tibbits.
I want to see more casual photograps of that group. Daddy died in 1969 of an operation for cancer that went wrong.

Nicely done, I would like to see an occasional original letter displayed because there is something quite compelling about the look of old paper. This is slightly too sanitized. Thank you, I was a sub teen during this time but remember letters from older relatives and have my own army experience in Korea which I am beginning to write up under the title HILL BILLY IN THE LAND OF THE MORNING CALM.
Thanks again Robert

My oldest brother, Glen W. Morries, age 21 was killed in action In Epinol, France Nov. 27, 1944. I was 2 years old so I don't remember him except through pictures and stories. He was a star tackle for the high school team and the University of Texas.
I cannot appreciate the loss and hurt my parents must have had upon losing their first born son in this way. Mother was never the same.
