My father Milt O'Barr was a member of the 85th Engineer Heavy Ponton Battalion during WWII. This unit landed in North Africa in 1943, landed in Italy in 1943, landed in France in 1944, and entered Germany in 1945. A web site is dedicated to dad's unit titled: 85th Engineer Heavy Ponton Battalion. Some 200 private WWII photos are posted on this site.
