I have my possession I letter written to my great-grandmother's uncle.. George C. Wharton dated Jan 15,1948. It is from the Dept. of the Navy, and it was in recognition for his contribution to the war in helping develop "hedge hog" charges. At the time he was the VP and chief engineer at the Ames-Baldwin Wyoming Co. I think they maily manufactured shovels. Can anyone shed any light on this man, his company or what they made???
